Your Questions Answered
Making the decision to explore therapy is one that some people take years to follow thru on. You are HERE! Welcome to your journey! You should feel proud of yourself for taking this step and with that, you may have questions. Below are a few questions you may have, and I will answer them as briefly as possible. Fear not, once you book your free 15 min complimentary call, I can answer more questions, if you have them.
YES! As a result of COVID, I moved my practice to solely virtual, meaning online. All your sessions are via video unless we are unable to connect, and a phone call is used instead. That will also depend on if your insurance requires the session to be only via video, otherwise, if you pay out of pocket, it can be a phone call. This really is a convenient approach to traditional sessions, online video, and phone with the same benefits from the comfort of your home.
Great question. Each session range 45-60 , once per week unless you require more and what your insurance covers. If you pay out of pocket, you can have as many sessions as you like. All initial intakes are one hour to hour and a half long.
Therapy doesn’t have an end time, so it can be where you get support for one month, three months or even a year. It also depends on what your insurance will approve, sometimes it can be limited, and you may also request additional sessions thru your insurance. Again, if you are paying out of pocket, there are no limits.
I am clinically trained to provide psychodynamic theories, CBT, Motivational, Family, some trauma focus, via talk therapy. I ask all clients to work with a journal, as writing can be healing and cathartic to the process.
Great question. I can assure with certainty, that all our communication and conversations are confidential. I will never disclose our communication without a signed or written or verbal consent. However, there are a few times when that confidentiality may be breached and that is if I feel you to have thoughts of self-harm, plans to harm others or is being harmed. I will do my best to communicate my plan to disclose to the appropriate person’s ie psychiatrist or your emergency contact. Otherwise, you are safe with me!
